The 2005 awards were organized and presented by Anna Aidoo. The purpose of this annual event is to celebrate the courage of women to succeed and to honour them for the work they have done and continue to do in the community. This year's recipients came from all walks of life, various professions, a church, students, business women and a single parent.

Nearly 200 people attended the Awards. There was entertainment by A Caribbean Gospel performer, a soloist who sang "His eye is on the sparrow", youth who performed a traditional African dance, poetry by both Nana Yeboah and Nicole Noel, both renowned artist in the community. Participants were also delighted with a delicious dinner and dance that lasted till daybreak.
