The Ghanaian Women's Courage Awards which was held at Holiday in Select on September 30th, 2006 was an evening of inspiration, glamour and much fun fair as women were recognized for their contribution not only to the Ghanaian community but to society at large.
This year's awards went to women from various sectors of the community such as, foreign affairs, business, immigration, entrepreneur, young leader, volunteer and career. There were performances as usual by Nouvel Expose a Somali dance group and a solo dance performance by a Ghanaian dancer, our keynote speaker was MP Judy Sgro the current minister for Status of women Canada. - Elizabeth Berko - for passing on traditions and culture
- Madam Hannah Adjeitey - for volunteering her time to care for members of the community
