The 2005 Woman's Worth Conference continued to attract people from all walks of life, while providing inspiration and motivation for its attendees who were treated to a day of entertainment and educational seminars.  Several key speakers enthused their audience, delivering informative and encouraging presentations on topics such as ...

  • "Business Financing Made Easy" by Marlene of Business Development Bank,
  • "Women are Worth It, So Go For Your Dreams!" By MP Ruby Dhalla
  • "Pressing On and Pushing Through to Success" by Anna Aidoo,

There was also a special powerpoint presentation featuring inspiring women from the 1700's to the present who had defied all odds to make a difference in the world we live in today.  Women such as, Mother Teresa who worked to help the poorest of the poor, Helen Keler who even though blind and deaf did everything she could to make life better for the blind.  Also, Princess Diana who reached out to millions of orphans and aids patients touching them with her love and support.  Not to mention Oprah Winfrey whose caring spans the globe helping children in South Africa, sponsoring students to attend University in America and helping people in need to be the best they can be!

Next year we'll bring you more stirring stories of woman from the past and present!

New to the conference this year were several local merchants showcasing their products. Attendees could puruse through tempting displays of jewelery, scarves, gift baskets and flower arrangements.

As always, a variety of performers kept the participants entertained with everything from poetry to belly dancing. Even lessons were available for those whose wanted to shake things up a little.

Once again this annual event reminded participants of their worth while giving them the tools to reach their highest potential and march on down the path to success! All the participants had great things to say. Some of their comments were ...

I would rather be ashes than dust!
I would rather that my spark should burn out in a brilliant blaze
than it should be stifled by dry rot.
I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow,
than a sleepy and permanent planet.
The proper function of man is to live, not to exist.
I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time.
